COMPANY INTRODUCTION
MOTOR JIKOV Tlaková slévárna a.s. originates from the former MOTOR JIKOV company. The company is continuing the tradition of zinc and aluminium alloy die casting which MOTOR JIKOV had been developing in the early 1970’s for the manufacture of carburettors, internal-combustion engines, and pneumatic brake components.
At present the company is among the most technically advanced and technologically best-equipped foundries in the Czech Republic. The company specialises in more sophisticated castings using the modern technologies of Bühler, Müller-Weingarten, and French. The foundry has a quality control system in place that is certified in accordance with EN ISO/TS 16949:2002, EN ISO 9001:2000 and EN ISO 14001:2004. The main customers are companies from the automotive, furniture-making, textile, electrical, and consumer goods industries. The biggest customers include Brose, Briggs & Stratton Corporation, Magna-Donnelly, PAL International, Valeo, Honeywell, Arvin Meritor, Haldex, and others.
The company is part of the MOTOR JIKOV GROUP, which represents four engineering and foundry joint-stock companies in South Bohemia. The Group has approximately 1,100 employees with a turnover of CZK 1.5 billion (2006). The companies significantly contribute to the inflow of foreign investment into the region. A large proportion of production is destined for export. The companies mainly specialise in: automotive components and accessories for passenger cars and lorries, aluminium and zinc alloy die cast parts, gray and ductile cast iron parts, purpose-built machine tools, assembling tools, injection moulds for metal, riveting tools, small agricultural machinery, and cleaning machines. In early 2007 the names of all the companies were unified with every company’s name starting with “MOTOR JIKOV”.
