COMPANY INTRODUCTION
MOTOR JIKOV Fostron a.s. was created from the Tools and Machinery divisions in combination with the equipment from MOTOR JIKOV joint-stock company as a result of a restructuring process by the parent company which saw the establishment of independent companies as legal entities. The company is successfully continuing the almost forty-year tradition of the manufacture of tools, instruments, and single-purpose machines.
Division – Die Casting: the production program primarily focuses on casting dies for the production of aluminium and zinc alloy castings and cutting tools. The main customers of the division are Thyssen KSM Castings, Metal Progress, Motoco, and MOTOR JIKOV Tlaková slévárna a.s.
Division – Single-Purpose Machines: manufactures single-purpose machines for machining castings, forged pieces, or other semi-finished products up to 3 kg in weight, assembling tools, appropriate complete assembly lines, testing and control instruments, and machining fixtures. The main customers of the division are companies operating in the automotive industry, namely Edscha Bohemia, Autopal, Brano Group, Robert BOSCH, Motoco, Thyssen, Kovolis Hedvikov, Metal Progress, TRW, Valeo and Witte.
The company employs about one hundred highly qualified employees, engineers, and technicians who utilise state-of-the-art technology. Engineering designers work at CAD/CAM 3D stations and operate NX and AUTOCAD software. In production modern HSC and EDM machines, among others, are used. Machines are assembled using a spotting press. Checks on tools and sampled parts are carried out using a 3D measuring device.
MOTOR JIKOV Fostron a.s. is certified in accordance with EN ISO 9001:2000 for the following:
- Manufacture and sale of dies and cutting tools.
- Development, manufacture and sale of single-purpose machines.
The company is part of the MOTOR JIKOV Group a.s. which represents four engineering and foundry joint-stock companies in South Bohemia. The Group has approximately 1,100 employees with a turnover of CZK 1.5 billion (2006). The companies significantly contribute to the inflow of foreign investment into the region. A large proportion of production is destined for export. The companies mainly specialise in: automotive components and accessories for passenger cars and lorries, aluminium and zinc alloy die cast parts, gray and ductile cast iron parts, purpose-built machine tools, assembling tools, injection moulds for metal, riveting tools, small agricultural machinery, and cleaning machines. In early 2007 the names of all the companies were unified with every company’s name starting with “MOTOR JIKOV”.
